Project 2 – Raspberio

Assignment,Hardware — Tags: — tdoyle @ 11:26 pm

For my second project, I created a controller reminiscent of the classic NES controller with three push buttons. This project aimed to expose us to aspects of hardware prototyping and the WiringPi library. In the end I created a demo “game” where the player could move Mario around the screen by moving left, right, and jumping.

My biggest take away was to seek help earlier! I spent a considerable amount of time attempting to figure out why my electronics weren’t working and a major issue was the resistors that I was using. Since hardware is not at all my specialty, this was not obvious to me. In the end, it was a cool functional project and got me into a good flow for developing on OpenFrameworks.
